Hermann Gmeiner Training Centre (HGTC)

Launched in 2006, the Hermann Gmeiner Training Centre (HGTC), approved by the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) organises training for pre-primary school teachers of the community. Each year the centre trains some 30 teachers. The dominant characteristic of the training methodology is its emphasis on sharing of good practices. Indeed, SOS Children’s Villages Mauritius has now 20 years experience in pre-primary education and sharing with teachers or aspiring teachers in the community is a mean for many more kids to benefit from quality education.  

Course Title: CHILDCARE GIVER’S TRAINING PROGRAMME

Course Aim / Objectives:

To provide vocational training to childcare givers (termed SOS Mothers in SOS Children’s Villages organisation) of NGO’s, specially those working directly with children in residential care.
