Psychological Support Programme
Rationale of Psychological programme
Most of the children under our care have suffered to varying extent of psychological trauma due to different forms of violence – neglect, child abuse, poverty physical and emotional harm. Therefore, the rationale of the Psychological therapy Support Programme is to provide counseling to our children with the view to supporting their development.
Beneficiaries
The beneficiaries are children under the care of SOS children’s villages Beau-Bassin and Bambous who need regular psychological counseling and follow up. Children in the Outreach Prevention of Child Abandonment Programme may also benefit from the programme.
Fund Utilisation
Sponsorship money is used to pay psychologists on a sessional basis.
Expected outcome
The children’s psychological problem will be diagnosed and appropriate intervention given by psychologists.
Progress will be monitored, evaluated and documented in the Child Development Plan file. |
