Who we are: SOS Children’s Villages(SOS CV) Mauritius is a leading Non-Profit charitable Organisation in the childcare sector in Mauritius. Our core services consist of residential care which is provided in the two SOS Children’s Villages – SOS CV Beau Bassin and SOS CV Bambous. There, we offer a substitute family to abandoned, neglected and poor children regardless of their religion and race. Each Village also provides a number of services like, pre-primary education (SOS Kindergartens - KG)), counselling services for trauma healing, remedial classes, vocational education and training (VET). These children need long-term residential care as they have no biological families to take proper care of them. The children are referred to us by the Child Development Unit of the Ministry of Women’s Rights, Child Development, Family Welfare and Consumer Protection.
We also do prevention work. This is carried out by our outreach Family Strengthening Programme (FSP) for the prevention of child abandonment. Our Vision Every child belongs to a family and grows with love, respect, and security.
Our Mission We build families for children in need. We help them shape their own futures. We share in the development of their communities.
Our Values Courage:We take action. Commitment: We Keep our promises. Trust: We believe in each other. Accountability: We are reliable partners. SOS Children’s Villages offer a unique and innovative programme for the care of disadvantaged children.

A Family Children to the age of around 14 years live together like brothers and sisters with an SOS mother and form a FAMILY.
A House Individual HOUSES in the SOS villages provide the kids protection from harm and abuse. The individual needs of the kids are fulfilled in order to ensure their growth and development. Kids enjoying themselves in a family house The Village

Youth Facility At around 15 years and depending upon their maturity, the children leave the Family Houses to reside, boys and girls separately, in Youth Houses under the guidance of professional youth leaders. The youngsters learn to take responsibility, make decisions, and be more autonomous.
Independent Living Programme (ILP) The ILP, another bridge to autonomy, is available for young adults leaving the programme but have no stable biological families to house them. They may live alone or in small groups in rented houses outside the SOS CVs and must be able to earn their living. The direct support of SOS children’s villages is gradually reduced till these “ex-SOS kids” reach complete self-sufficiency.
SOS Kindergartens (pre-primary schools) The two kindergartens are meant primarily for the kids of the children’s villages but children of the neighbourhood also attend the schools.
